Message Review
In Proverbs the scriptures talk about things that God sees in the Earth that are incredibly wise. The book of Proverbs is so significant and dense that it would be a lot to cover in services. However, I have tried to pick scriptures that hit the theme of Proverbs which includes diligence and the concept of things not happening when you are lazy. The theme of Proverbs is to be accountable; the book gives warnings of things to look out for and embrace. There are three personality profiles explained, the simple, the scorner, and the fool. We have talked about Proverbs 6 and Proverbs 30 and it mentions the small creatures of the Earth. These creatures embody everything that Proverbs is trying to teach us which is the wisdom of God. Proverbs is how God thinks, so when we read Proverbs, we are entering the mind of God as He opens up wisdom to us.
Let’s Talk About It!
Proverbs 30:24-28 (NKJV) says, 24 “There are four things which are little on the earth, But they are exceedingly wise: 25 The ants are a people not strong, Yet they prepare their food in the summer; 26 The rock badgers are a feeble folk, Yet they make their homes in the crags; 27 The locusts have no king, Yet they all advance in ranks; 28 The spider skillfully grasps with its hands, And it is in kings’ palaces.” Ants operate as a collective and they can carry weight much heavier than themselves. The ant can carry other’s burdens as well as their own. In Proverbs 6 it says the ant has no captain or leader, but they keep doing their job. This means that they are internally inspired, and they don’t need to be told that they are doing a good job. This is the way that we should be. If we have a dream in life, we have to be internally inspired because there are haters around us all the time while we are trying to achieve our dream. Not everyone is going to pat you on the back and encourage you.
The spider is wise because he understands he has everything in him that he needs. Everything that he needs in life is already in him. If he needs to eat, he’ll take his web and capture prey. We get upset when we run into spider webs and we knock them down. The spider just finds another place and spins another web. Spiders cannot be stopped because there is nowhere, he can’t get. He can get his food, he can keep himself alive, he can protect himself, he can build himself a house. Everything that he is doing in this web is coming out from within him. What God wants to do in your life is not going to leave the air condition vents and enter through your pores. What God wants to do in your life has already been put on the inside of you. Life is not an outside job but an inside job!
Ephesians 1:15-18 (NKJV) says, 15 “Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” That last verse says in the saints, not for the saints. I was always told that my inheritance is in Heaven and it’s waiting for me. Ephesians is saying that’s not so. It says God always has something in you. It is your inheritance, it’s not a harvest. Harvest is the result of something you do and a seed that you sow. Inheritance is the result of who your father is. Each of us have an inheritance on the inside of us because we carry his name. God has already tucked something down on the inside of you that belongs only to you. It’s in us and not anywhere else even if we may not feel like it is.
It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things. I pray that you will have the spirit of wisdom and that God will uncover the hope of your calling and the riches of His glory which is already in the saints. I pray that God will uncover and let you see how much power you have according to the working of His mighty power. This power is defined in Ephesians 1:20.
Read Ephesians 1:20 (NKJV)
20 “which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,”
I pray that God will give you the strength of wisdom that your head can wrap around. The spirit of revelation that you will know stuff that only God can show you. As 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NKJV) says 9 “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” What we are learning today cannot be learned in a classroom, from an accountability partner, or a life group. Only the Holy Spirit can reveal these things to us.
