Hey guys, Ron here. I just wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts with you that have been on my mind lately. I know that Hope is usually the one who kicks things off, but today I felt compelled to share some unfiltered, real, raw, and relevant thoughts with you all.
One thing that has been on my mind is the power of habits. Habits are the building blocks of our lives – they shape who we are and what we become. As the saying goes, “you are not what you do occasionally, you are what you do habitually.” This simple truth can have a profound impact on our lives if we choose to embrace it.
I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Dr. Dave Martin about his book, “Make That Break That,” which delves into the importance of habits in shaping our lives. Dr. Martin shared some valuable insights about how habits can make or break us, and the key role that self-discipline plays in establishing good habits.
Self-discipline is, in fact, at the heart of establishing new habits. It requires focus, commitment, and a strong reason or motive for change. Dr. Martin suggested that instead of focusing solely on breaking bad habits, it may be more beneficial to replace them with new, positive habits. By doing so, we can gradually shift our focus towards productive habits that move us forward in life.
It’s important to be self-aware and to track the habits that are helping us and those that are hindering us. By identifying the habits that serve us well and those that hold us back, we can make informed decisions about which habits to keep and which ones to change.
As we embark on a new year, I encourage you to consider the habits that you want to cultivate and the ones that you want to let go of. What new habits can you introduce into your life that will support your growth and success? Remember, it takes time and dedication to establish new habits, but the results are well worth the effort.
So, as we move forward into this new year, let’s prioritize the development of positive habits that will lead us towards our goals and aspirations. And remember, it’s never too late to make a change and start building the life you desire.
