Hey y’all, it’s Hope here! Today, I want to talk about something that is near and dear to my heart – loneliness. In a recent conversation with Ron, we delved into the topic of loneliness and how it can affect us in different ways.
Loneliness is something that most of us experience at some point in our lives. It’s that feeling of being alone, even when surrounded by people. And let me tell you, it’s not always a bad thing. In fact, sometimes loneliness can be a divine and restorative experience.
I shared with Ron about a time in my life when I was alone for nine months in North Carolina. While on the surface it may have seemed lonely, I didn’t feel alone. I found solace and peace in that time of solitude.
I think there’s a misconception in our culture that being alone is a bad thing. We often associate loneliness with being a loser or something being wrong. But the truth is, some of the best and most restful times in my life have been when I’ve been alone.
Ron and I discussed how loneliness can be a time for restoration of focus. Just like the ice skaters in the Olympics who have a focal point to keep them balanced and spinning, sometimes being alone can help us refocus and realign our priorities.
We also talked about how loneliness can be a time for discernment and growth. It’s an opportunity to look inward and evaluate where we are in life and where we want to go. It’s a time to seek God and listen to His direction for our lives.
I shared with Ron how I sometimes need to be alone to refuel and recharge. As someone who is constantly giving out on so many levels, I need that time of solitude to be still and quiet.
In conclusion, loneliness is not always a negative thing. It can be a time for introspection, growth, and restoration. So if you’re feeling lonely, don’t be hard on yourself. Embrace this time as an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and with God.
Thanks for joining me on this journey of self-discovery and reflection. Remember, you are not alone in your loneliness. God is with you every step of the way.
Until next time, stay blessed and know that you are loved.
