MESSAGE REVIEW
King Solomon had an encounter with the Lord where he asked for “wisdom and understanding.” The Lord granted his request and was pleased with him because he did not ask for long life, riches, or the lives of his enemies. The Lord gave him a wise and understanding heart and gave him riches and honor just because He wanted to. God said he would lengthen his days also. Because Solomon was in right standing with God and asked for the “right thing” in God’s eyes, he was blessed with more. Solomon knew with wisdom and understanding he would have God’s perspective in all things.

LET S TALK ABOUT IT!

•Read 1 Kings 3:5-15 In the scriptures, King Solomon asked God for wisdom and understanding. When you have wisdom and understanding you can unlock doors to so many other things. With wisdom and understanding you can see through God’s eyes, feel with His heart, and walk His walk. How can walking in “wisdom and understanding” be a game changer in your life and how you perceive others?

•Read Isaiah 11:2 This passage speaks of the spirits of understanding. The Spirit of the Lord, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. By knowing this we may posture ourselves in the spirit of understanding and be able to see your brother or sister in the most accurate way, The way God sees them. It will be difficult to understand and love people without the Spirit of God. When you encounter a hurting or difficult person in your everyday life, do you ask the Holy Spirit to give you insight behind their behavior? How can this make a difference in how you perceive troubled people or even people in your everyday life?

•Read 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 The bible says that the outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. If we refuse to honor someone because of what the outside looks like, we cannot receive the blessing that is inside of them. If we dig for dirt, we will surely find some, but can we find the gold in someone?

•Read Romans 14:1 Scripture speaks for us to receive one who is weak in faith, but do not dispute over doubtful things. We should not place unreal expectations on others. There are people around us who may not have the relationship we have with God or are weak in their faith. We are to receive them anyways. How can we be a light, and encourage others who are “weak in faith”?
