Hey everyone, Ron here! Hope and I are back with another episode of Ron and Hope Unfiltered. Today, we decided to do something a little different. We were in a groove and decided to continue our conversation from last week, so here we are, part two!
We had a heavy podcast last time, talking about pain and overcoming challenges in our marriage. It was titled “Preaching With a Hangover”. It was raw and real, but we wanted to bring some lightness and laughter into this episode.
One thing we talked about was how pain does not discriminate. It touches everyone’s life in different ways. Even though Hope and I have been through a lot, we are living our best lives in 2024. We have had our share of troubles, trauma, and tough times, but we have put in the work and followed God on this journey.
One thing that really helped me during a challenging time in our marriage was Hope’s attitude. She went above and beyond to show me that she was all in and committed to healing our relationship. She allowed me to scrutinize areas that were painful and gave me permission to overanalyze things related to the violation of trust. This level of openness and transparency made a huge difference for me.
Another thing that helped us stay in the game was dreaming together. We took a moment to focus on what we wanted our future to look like, rather than dwelling on the pain of the past. It was a turning point for us, and it helped us shift our focus towards a brighter tomorrow.
I also want to emphasize the importance of seeking outside help and counseling during tough times in a relationship. We went to a counseling center called Blessings Ranch, and it made a big difference for us. Having an outside perspective and someone to navigate us through difficult moments was invaluable.
In the end, we both had to decide how bad we wanted to be healed and overcome the challenges in our marriage. It takes work, commitment, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to make things right.
Our story may not be perfect, but it’s real and raw. We hope that sharing our journey can inspire and encourage others who may be going through similar struggles. Remember, there is always hope for healing and restoration in any relationship.
