Message Review
Jeremiah 1:4-5 NKJV says, 4 “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified[a] you; I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Whether you were a product of a one-night stand or you were adopting and you’re still trying to find out who you are. It doesn’t matter your background. How you got here doesn’t matter because you existed before you got here. You were so important in Heaven, God just had to find a pathway to get you here into the Earth. You have something to do in the Earth that has no connection to you biologically. It has a connection to your life Heavenly because life does not begin at birth. It begins in Heaven, in the mind and heart of God. Sanctified in Jeremiah means separate and other. Before I gave you flesh, I already knew you in Heaven and had experienced you and I had already made you separate from anybody else so there’s something on Earth that only you can do. If you do not fulfil that assignment, it will not be done.

Before I got here, God already had experiences with me. He didn’t know me by knowledge but by experience. It’s like eating an apple, I can tell you what it tastes like, or I can let you bite it. In other words, He knew me because He had an experience with me. He interacted with me in Heaven. I existed with God and in God before I ever entered the Earth. My purpose and destiny were planned beforehand. God gave us a span of time, called a lifetime to fulfil the purposes of God within that time. John 1:1-3 NKJV says, 1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” We have the who, where, and when in this passage. God is the who, the Word is the where, and in the beginning is the when.

What do you think your purpose/assignment is on Earth?

Nothing happens until you speak, everything comes from words. Your life follows your words. Some of you don’t like where you are but if I heard your conversation, you probably talked yourself all the way there. In your mouth, your tongue is the power of life, you take concepts, dreams, and visions. But they are inside of you until you speak. When you speak to them, you are giving life to spiritual things that may manifest in the Earth realm. Nothing that has been made was made without words. So, in the beginning was word, so if it’s been made that’s where it came from. John 1:12-14 NKJV says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” We have to walk in the purpose and assignment that God has already predestined for us as children of God.

For application, find two sticky notes. On the first sticky note, write down some of your goals and dreams. Then on the second sticky note write what you think God’s purpose is for your life. Keep it somewhere safe until the end of this On Assignment series and check it to see if its changed.

We want this sermon series to bring you clarity in your life and purpose. We want to see you learn and grow in your assignment; the purpose God designed just for you! Keep seeking God and His Word!
